ABOUT THE MAP

The Gezi Park protests began on May 28, 2013, when 50 protestor started to guard the trees in the Gezi Park from being bulldozed for a government led urban project. The brutal police intervention attracted many more suporters to the park. Within a week the uprisings surrounded Turkey against the increasing governmental  authoritarian rule. We witnessed how a search for democracy and a just system brought people from different spectrums of life.
