ABOUT THE MAP

A woman hitting a neo-Nazi with her handbag is a famous photograph taken in Växjö, Sweden, by Hans Runesson.

On a Saturday back on 13 April 1985, the Nordic Reich Party supporters had a demonstration. When they were passing by Norrgatan, Danuta Danielsson, who had a Polish-Jewish origin, decided to take a lone action against the neo-Nazi, Seppo Seluska, by hitting him in the head with her handbag.

Although committing suicide two years after this event, Danielsson is being remembered by her courageous act.
